At Beija Flor we’re of the opinion that occasions such as Melbourne Cup Day call for more dramatic floral head wear, we’re thinking… an over the top Frida Kahlo inspired piece in clashing shades. Popular flower varieties include large and showy blooms such as phalenopsis orchids, with their wide petals, garden roses which have a flatter profile than standard roses and cymbidium orchids in all colours. Flower crowns can also be created using delicate blooms such as waxflowers and rose buds, add pops of yellow from daisies or billy buttons for a relaxed a bohemian vibe.
