Unique Wedding Reception Venues: The Rails

The Darwin Railway Club, known to locals as simply The Rails, is more famous for its gig listings and pool tables than as a wedding venue. So we were a little excited to be asked to decorate The Rails for a wedding last year.

The Rails is known for its tropical beer garden and hosts an array of artifacts collected over the years and memorabilia from past live shows. Unlike lots of wedding venues, this was certainly not a blank canvas. The Rails certainly already has its personality!

We had so much fun bringing out as many eclectic items from our rental collection as possible to suit the moody music venue interior - the birdcages, substantial ceramic pots and recycled and coloured glass votives.

We chose big and bold tropical flowers to greet guests through a tunnel of greenery to reveal the pièce de résistance, a collection of enormous blue and white vases topped with sexy pinks and orchids on the huge buffet table.

The occasional tables with simple palm pattern jars topped with tropical leaves, anthuriums, orchids, and foliage plants from Darwin Indoor Plant Hire added an extra touch of green around the room.
